Art Journal | Update 2

"Art Journaling", "hobbies"Liz LuscombComment
My art journal is slowly evolving into a reflection of my life.

Very s-l-o-w-l-y.

If you flipped through it today, you would find it teeming with unfinished sketches, partially painted pages, and splotchy areas that were my attempt to fix an uh-oh.

Throughout this experience so far, I would have to say that having an art journal is fun.

On the flip side, it is very time consuming (or I make it time consuming) and this will probably be my last art journal for a very long time once I'm finished. (Haha)  For me, using words to express what is on my mind, coupled with a few snap shots is much easier.

Here are a few pictures of my unfinished drawings so far...

I found a cute mug on Pinterest that had this written on it a long time ago.  I always felt it befit me since I don't drink coffee.
This idea for the mason jars were actually done from a tutorial that I watched on Yes and Amen.  She mentioned that she got the idea from somewhere else and passed it down, but either way, I found it to be a charming project, despite my husbands eye roll, lol.  It was also a great way to use up some leftover paper from my scrapbooking days.

As usual, this isn't finished.  I wanted to add a sleeping cat at the top of the page with its tale hanging over one of the jars.

Bwahahahaha!  This picture...I call her Helga.  She was supposed to be a lovely lady, but she came out an ugly lady, lol.  Bubba and Nathan give me so much grief over this sketch!  They constantly make wise guy remarks; cracking themselves up.  Bubba told me I better take a picture at an angle so it wouldn't scare anyone.  I figured I would take his advice one this one.

There is a sweet story that accompanies red birds.  It was a story that my grandmother told one day when I was about 12 years old.  I plan on sharing it soon!

Okay, that's about it for now.  I have a few others that I didn't photograph, but you get the idea!

Always,
Liz
