Valentines Day

Listen, I'm going to be completely honest with you guys.  I am not a fan of Valentines Day.

Seriously though, I like the cute decorations and the chocolate, but really...this holiday is somewhat re-donk-a-lous.  But...I have kids and a husband and with that comes a sense of duty to this holiday.

My husband isn't a fan of this holiday either and my dislike for it gives him a free card, but he usually throws me a nice letter telling me how much he loves and appreciates me.  AND for that, I love him. ;D  I usually provide something small for him as well.  My husband likes to eat so I usually bake him something sweet, however, he is swearing off sweets altogether so I decided I'm going to make him heart shaped bacon.

I think he will love it.;)

Moving on...V-Day is typically the ladies holiday.  It's our one excuse to hear & see our men going all out for us.
In spirit of that, I wanted to share some scripture for the men on how to treat their woman.  lol.

1Peter 3:1-7 MSG version
...Treat your wives, then, as equals so your prayers don't run aground.

Ephesians 5:22-28 MSG version
Wives, understand and support your husbands in ways that show your support for Christ.  The husband provides leadership to his wife the way Christ does to his church, NOT by DOMINEERING but by CHERISHING.  So just as the church submits to Christ, as he exercises such leadership, wives should likewise submit to their husbands.
Husbands, go ALL OUT in your LOVE for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the church--a love marked by giving, not getting.  Christ's love makes the church whole.  His words evoke her beauty, everything he does and says is designed to bring the best out of her, dressing her in dazzling white silk...
